By doing your own work-related stress audit, you'll go from feeling that things can't change to knowing exactly what needs to change, so that you can think and work well.
When we're stressed, we often become myopic in our view.
We’re effectively so lost in the forest of everything we're dealing with that the trees blend into one and things can soon become dark and foreboding.

Whilst this is natural (we’re wired to deal with threat through single focus), it’s unfortunate because, when we're in that state, we cannot take the necessary helicopter view to find a way out.

I created the work-related stress audit to help people explore what's causing them distress at work (it's always more than workload) and what they need put in place to do their best work.

What's inside?
There are known issues of job design, working environment and organisational culture that lead to people becoming stressed at work. To help you pinpoint what's causing you distress, the workbook asks you questions about each of them.
Once you understand all that's in play, you can think about what would make things better for you and, with your manager, use the action planner to agree a way forward.

Why download the workbook?
It will help you to:
-
objectively review factors known to cause stress at work;
-
discover which factors are bothering you;
-
consider what would help; and
-
prepare for a conversation with your manager or HR.

Should I share it with my manager?
All workplaces have a general duty to protect their employees from physical and psychological harm. If you're feeling stressed at work, your employer needs to know so they can improve things for you.
By sharing your findings you demonstrate that you take the matter seriously, you want to play your part in sorting out the issues and, you have some solutions to table.

Take care of you.
